MJ winning SOTY reminded me of an old, rare Maple Skateboards promo from 1995 I bought from SS20 whilst on a skate/booze road trip to Oxford with Gorm and Big Pete in 1996. I could attempt to remember tales of throwing bikes in rivers and over walls, streaking across main road roundabouts, Alex Moul DJing, trying to break in to University halls and the best burgers in the world...but I won't. Instead here is the uploaded MJ part (from all the way back when he was still an AM).

ah yes, maple skateboards. not a bad team really. MJ's part profile in 411 around a similar time was shit hot too. can't wait to see his epic 3 song section in fully flared.....hand shandy!!
Rad. Never seen that before. His old sections were kinda unique at the time. The beige trousers + tighty whitey tee + Stereolab combo. I wonder if he still skates with Gershon at all?
Were Muska and MJ on Maple at the same time? Seems unthinkable now.
Ooo looking forward to his Fully Flared part too. I got a lotta time for MJ. He went a bit pretensious for a while but he's a clever guy who loves skateboarding, and has gotten better and better despite being ridonkulously amazing to begin with. SOTY and then some.
